Design Studio API
Create and manage the WhatsApp templates you make in Design Studio.
These endpoints only work if your workspace connects to WhatsApp through your Meta (Facebook) Business Account. If you send WhatsApp messages through Twilio, you manage your templates in Twilio instead.
Meta needs to approve every WhatsApp template before you can send it to your audience. A Design Studio template goes through these steps:
- Create the template. Creating a template doesn't send anything to Meta, so you can update it as much as you need to first.
- Submit the template to Meta for approval. After you submit it, you can't change its content, category, or language unless Meta rejects it.
- Check the template's status until Meta approves or rejects it.
- Link the template to a single workflow, like a WhatsApp action in an automation or a transactional message. You can link a template before Meta approves it.
- Publish to push the template to the linked workflow. Wait until Meta approves the template before you start sending it.
You can do any of these steps in Design Studio too. Learn more about WhatsApp templates in Design Studio.
To organize your WhatsApp templates into folders, use the Folders endpoints.
